Religious Education

At Bordon Infant and Junior Schools, Religious Education is taught through the Kapow Religion and Worldviews curriculum, which is aligned with the Hampshire Agreed Syllabus. This knowledge-rich curriculum enables pupils to explore a range of religious and non-religious worldviews, helping them to understand how beliefs, values and practices shape the lives of individuals and communities across the world.

Through the study of religion and worldviews, children are encouraged to ask thoughtful questions, engage in respectful discussion and develop an understanding of different perspectives. Pupils learn about a range of faiths and worldviews while reflecting on their own beliefs, experiences and values.

The aims of Religion and Worldviews are to:

  • Develop a deeper understanding of religious and non-religious worldviews, beliefs, values and ways of life.
  • Encourage curiosity, critical thinking and respectful enquiry into life's big questions.
  • Enable pupils to reflect on their own beliefs, experiences and values while appreciating those of others.
  • Foster respect, empathy and understanding in a diverse and multicultural society.
  • Build substantive knowledge of a range of religions and worldviews, including how they influence individuals, communities and cultures.
  • Equip children with the knowledge and skills to engage thoughtfully and respectfully with different perspectives in the modern world.

Our Religion and Worldviews curriculum helps pupils to become informed, open-minded and reflective individuals who are prepared to live positively in an increasingly diverse society.
