Personal Development

At Bordon Infant and Junior Schools, Personal Development is woven throughout school life. Through our curriculum, assemblies, enrichment opportunities, pupil leadership roles, educational visits and wider experiences, pupils develop the knowledge, skills and values needed to thrive in modern Britain.

Our aim is to help children become confident, respectful and responsible individuals who understand how to stay safe, healthy and active, value diversity, build positive relationships and contribute positively to their communities. We want pupils to leave our schools as resilient, independent learners who are well prepared for their next stage of education and life beyond school.

Through our Personal Development curriculum, we aim for pupils to:

  • Develop confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Build positive relationships and show respect for others.
  • Understand how to stay safe, healthy and active.
  • Appreciate diversity and different perspectives.
  • Make informed and responsible choices.
  • Become active and responsible citizens.
